Dublin-listed software business Scisys has secured a €1.3m contract with Airbus Defence and Space.

Scisys provides IT and software services across a number of sectors including media, space, and defence.

The contract is for the development, integration, verification and maintenance of the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (Egnos) V3 performance-assessment facility.

Egnos V3 will provide augmented operational safety of life services over Europe. This will improve the accuracy and availability of user-positioning services from global navigation satellite systems (Galileo and GPS).

This latest contract comes on the back of two other recent European space sector deals. Scisys CEO Klaus Heidrich said the recent series of space contract wins “provide an important endorsement of the board’s decision last year to redomicile Scisys’s parent company to Dublin”.

“This step has enabled us to protect EU-funded work and puts the Scisys group in a solid position to navigate Brexit going forward,” Mr Heidrich added.

The contract has been awarded under a programme funded by the European Union and the European Space Agency.

Earlier this month, Scisys secured a €5m contract with GMV in Spain for Galileo.

In November, the company was admitted to trading in Dublin, becoming the first London-listed company to seek entry to the ISE after the June 2016 Brexit vote.
